Vishnu Kumar Patwa is a Patwa craftsman from Kaladera, Rajasthan. He inherited this craft from his father, Antiram the Patwas. Patwa is a thread craft born in Rajasthan and is now practiced in parts of Rajasthan, Maharashtra, and UP. The word Patwa comes from the Hindi word "pat", which means silk, and people involved in the silk and cotton thread business are called Patwas. He has been practicing this craft for 15 years. He has been awarded the Shilpi Saman Awards from an NGO (Rural-Urban Development Foundation). He attended trade fairs across India like in Delhi, Jaipur, Hyderabad, Coimbatore, Goa, Bangalore, Chennai, and Chandigarh. He changed the way of design from traditional to modern design by adding metal elements.
