Material Trivet / Hot plate made from original blue pottery ceramic tile with natural sheesham wood. Blue Pottery is widely recognized as a traditional craft of Jaipur, though it is Turko-Persian in origin. The name 'blue pottery' comes from the eye-catching blue dye used to color the pottery. Jaipur blue pottery, made out of a similar frit material to Egyptian faience, is glazed and low-fired. No clay is used: the 'dough' for the pottery is prepared by mixing quartz stone powder, powdered glass, Multani Mitti (Fuller's Earth), borax, gum and water. It is the only pottery in the world that does not use clay. Use as a trivet / hot plate or hang on the wall.
Care Gently wipe with a clean wet cloth, keep away from water and other liquid substances. Being fired at very low temperature makes them fragile.
Colour Slight difference in color from the visible product image is possible. Read more.
