Material Finest pure handspun handloom pochampally ikat pure silk dupatta with zari border from Telangana. Ikat (Ikkat) is a dyeing technique used to pattern textiles that employs a resist dyeing process similar to tie-dye on either the warp or weft fibers prior to dyeing. Ikat has lovely patterns and are world famous for their extremely beautiful colors, texture and designs. Indian Ikat is always admired by the fashion designers around the world. A masterful craftsmanship by the national award winner Padmashree Gajam Govardhana.
Care After wearing, dry it in shade to remove sweat. Avoid plastic cover or card board box. Wrap with brown paper or white cotton cloth to protect silks from insects, dust, moisture and to blackning of zari. Use silica gel sachets in storage racks. Dry clean only. Iron with low to medium temprature. This pure silk dupatta is a labour of love of the sericulture farmer, silk reeler and twister, the artisans including the weaver. Brand Govardhan has been one of the finest masters involved in producing Ikat tye and dye fabrics from Andhra. A.G. Govardhan won the Padma Shree award in 2011 for Ikkat Handloom Weaving. Govardhan is a master weaver and national award winner, from Andhra Pradesh. Born in a family that has been into weaving for the last 75 years, Govardhan's métier is telia rumaal, a textile craft that earlier involved vegetable dye.
