Material Srikalahastipen work handpainted pure cotton kalamkari zari border dupatta with tassels. This exquisite dupatta is created with Srikalahasti style of kalamkari, wherein the "kalam" or pen is used for free hand drawing of the subject and filling in the colours. It is entirely hand worked using natural colours. Kalamkari in Srikalahasti has been around for 200 years approximately. Unlike other places where this particular craft is practiced, artists in Srikalahasti retains the ancient techniques of dyeing which have been passed down from generations. As it is hand-painted/handcrafted, colour spread and irregularity in design is common, hence it won't be considered as damaged or defective.
Care Gentle hand wash separately in cold water with mild/liquid detergents, excess natural colours may bleed when washed for the first time. Avoid soaking for too long.
Colour Slight difference in colour from the visible product image is possible. Read more.
