Intricate original pedana kalamkari block printed natural dyed cotton tapestry wall hanging skillfully crafted by the artisans of Pedana. This wall hanging is created using a record above 200 blocks. The artists have added Mughal designs as borders to the hanging of the Tree of Life. Many people have tried to copy Pitchuka's Tree of Life by using a pen for the intricate details, but his design done only with handmade blocks. The theme was developed by Kalamkari artisans Pitchuka Srinivas and his son P. Varun Kumar. A group of 20 artisans toiled for nearly 120 days to bring out the 115 X 165 CM creation on fabric. This project attempts to highlight rural life, conservation of wildlife and nature through textile art. Showcasing an assortment of hand block printed motifs inspired by traditional kalamkari painting. Kalamkari is the earliest and more complex techniques of block-printing.
Care
Gentle hand wash separately in cold water with mild/liquid detergents, excess natural colours may bleed when washed for the first time. Avoid soaking for too long.

Srinivas is one of the only artisans in the country who still follows the original technique of hand-block printed Kalamkari and since Srinivas took over the workshop from his father Pitchuka Veera Subbaiah, he has been struggling to keep the original art form, which dates back to the 11th and 12th century, alive and intact.
Pitchuka Srinivas is a well-known Kalamkari master artisan and always had a keen interest in art since his childhood days. After his father's demise, he completely went into Kalamkari and dedicated his whole life to it. His son Varun supports him in his venture and now they're proudly a team of 20 skilled artisans who have taken Kalamkari Art to an international level. Using Natural dyes and classical techniques, he has perfected the craft of Kalamkari. He is highly popular as the last kalamkari craftsman who is fighting to preserve the original handmade form of the Kalamkari craft. The originality in his work is so eye-catching that no one can beat him in Kalamkari Craft today.
