The Brass Dabbas are an utilitarian in every home, right from a school snack-box to an office luncheon box. Khana packed in a brass box is just not healthy, but keeps the food warm, making it extra nutritious. Traditionally, Indians carried food in these brass containers, instead of steel boxes, to have a healthy hearty meal!
In order to maintain the shine and spark of the products one should wash the utensil with Pitambari or brasso powder, readily available in the nearest general store. One can also use lemon water, tamarind or vinegar.

P-TAL aims at reviving the dying craft form of the indigenous Thatheras community of Jandiala Guru, Amritsar. The Thatheras of Jandiala Guru are a community of skilled craftsmen who specialize in the traditional technique of making hand crafted brass, copper and bell metal utensils by hammering metal sheets. This unique craft of the Thateras of Jandiala Guru in Amritsar is the first craft of India to be inscribed in the UNESCO’s Representative List of the Intangible Cultural Heritage of Humanity in 2014. Like the Thatheras, P-TAL is an epitomy of making tradition a trend, preserving legacy through legal entity converting practice into perfection thus moulding the vessels of hope!
